About

Hi, Hoi (Swiss), und Hallo (German)! This is me (not the one with the whiskers….)

Luca4.jpg

I graduated with my B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Rice University and my M.S. in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University at Galveston. My stint as a M.S. student made it difficult for me to keep my blog updated, but I try to publish posts as often as I can. My theses have focused on predator-prey dynamics in zooplankton and the sensory biology/innervation of pinniped vibrissae (whiskers). If you want to check out my M.S. research, you can follow this link: Follicle Microstructure and Innervation Vary between Pinniped Micro- and Macrovibrissae. Most of my experience and interest in biology comes from having worked as a marine animal rehabilitation intern, a sea turtle nesting monitor, an avian point count technician, and an anatomy & physiology teaching assistant. My blog is basically links that I find helpful/fun and my own musings on articles that I find interesting. Hopefully, you enjoy it, find it semi-helpful, and it introduces you to new things. Thanks for stopping by!

    • Thank you so much! I’m glad you like my blog! I’m not really “up” on blog awards, but I will look into the criteria. 🙂
